Asus Just Announced Their Hybrid GTX 1080Ti Poseidon Edition Graphics Card

If an air cooled graphics card doesn’t catch your fancy. Then Asus has an amazing announcement for you. Where Asus has just announced their new custom hybrid version of the GTX 1080TI, known as Asus ROG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti.

This is not something new and Asus has done this before with their previous cards as well. Basically the Asus ROG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti graphics card uses a hybrid cooling solution. Where users can either let it run on air cooling. Or they can upgrade it to support water cooling as well. Which combined together allows its user to achieve higher overclocks at much lower temperatures.

Asus ROG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti graphics card for being their top of the line hybrid card. Does not come in a small form factor. Where the card comes with a big cooler that should consume around 2.5 PCIE slots in your casing. Where the graphics card is equipped with a Dual fan configuring. While in height the card is a bit longer than other cards. Mainly due to the extended compatibility for water cooling. So do make sure you casing supports it with its window closed.

Aside from the GPU itself the DirectCU H20 cooling technology on the Asus ROG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti. Also helps in cooling the entire PCB itself. Because the graphics card comes with its own backplate. Which according to Asus provides 40% better heat dissipation and 20% more flow rate of liquid. Where the GPU and VRMs are cooled through the water block as seen in the rendered picture.

Asus didn’t mention any specs on the ROG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. But Asus did say that with water cooling the card will stay under 50 degrees on load. Which would increase to around 70 degrees on air. While in order to power the card, users would need a 8+6 pin PCIE power connector.
