Ataribox has advised its lovers to keep calm as the Ataribox Indiegogo campaign will take a bit more than you expected. The problem lies in the hardware supply because there is a “key element” that is missing from the inventory. So all those folks waiting for the website to show the pre-order option will have to wait a bit more.
The Ataribox console was announced back in September and was to be released during this fall season but that didn’t quite happen. The product of the crowdfunding campaign was expected to start shipping in Spring 2018 but now according to Atari’s latest update on the matter, the Indiegogo campaign that was meant to kick off on December 14, is halted for an indefinite period of time. Here’s what Atari said regarding the matter:
Because of one key element on our checklist, it is taking more time to create the platform and ecosystem the Atari community deserve. Building Ataribox is incredibly important to us and we will do whatever it takes to be sure it is worth the wait.
The “Key Element”
The key element is still unknown to us as Atari hasn’t disclosed anything about it so we’ll have to stick with what they said and wait for them to announce a new release date for the Ataribox Indiegogo campaign.
