Even though the prices are rising on GPU hardware from both Nvidia and AMD side. No one seems to be taking action against it, as the crypto current mining craze is getting high day by day. Well looks like among many AIB partners out there Inno3D will be the one doing something about it. As a Reddit user brought forward a new warning sticker that is being shipped with every Inno3d GPU. According to which “This product is not designed for Crypto Mining. We reserve the right to void the warranty if there is any damage associated with this application’’.
For now we are not sure if Inno3D will be doing it for all their GPUs or not. But the current iChill GeForce GTX 1060 6GB X3 V2 edition does come with the warning sticker. Aside from the rising prices on GPU hardware, there has also been a huge shortage as well. Which mainly includes the recently launched VEGA 64 from AMD. As well as their entry level lineup last year including the RX 570, 580, 470 and 480. All of which are considered the best hardware to mine right now.
There are a lot of different ways to mine right now. Aside from mining Bitcons which favors ASIC hardware over current gaming GPU hardware. So in order to make it work miners have shifted to mining Ethereum, which is designed to take advantage of GPU hardware and for some reason favors AMD a lot. The demand of mining is so high that both GPU and motherboard manufacturers have started targeting them. Which gave rise to motherboard with up to 19 PCIe slots. As well as graphics cards that are designed especially for miners.
Mining also means using your hardware at 100% all the time. Which certainly is not good for business as im sure AIB partners would be filled with RMA request. Maybe this is why Inno3D have taken a stand against mining and more will as well in time.
