Intel has an interesting set of names for the upcoming 9th gen processors

Nomenclature has a very prominent place in Intel’s dictionary as most of us still remember the processors by their generic names. The latest high-end 8th gen processors have become famous through the stamp of “Coffee Lake” and the 7th generation was named as “Kaby Lake.” According to the latest reports from the rumors mill, we have received the model names for the latest 8th and 9th gen Intel core processors.

The Model Numbers

What the latest FinalWire AIDA64 report shows, is that 9th generation Core processors have some interesting set of names.

The Core i5 Lineup

  • Core i5-9600K
  • Core i5-9600
  • Core i5-9500
  • Core i5-9400
  • Core i5-9400T

The Core i3 Lineup

  • Core i3-9300
  • Core i3-9300T
  • Core i3-9100
  • Core i3-9100T
  • Core i3-9000
  • Core i3-9000T

Interesting To Know

The processor names with the “T” suffix mean lower TDP, which would be kept around 35W. The others, without the suffix, are going to have a higher TDP rating of 65W. The credibility of this change-log can be cross-checked by what it says about Intel’s second-wave of Core “Coffee Lake” parts. The previously disclosed 300-series chipsets including H370, B360, and H310 are also a part of this list.
