Intel looks like to be working on something to counter AMD. Benchmarks scores of a new Intel CPU was leaked on the internet. Though what’s interesting about the new processor is its 32 cores and 64 threads. The new CPU from Intel was spotted on Geekbench. Where the new processor was named as Intel Xeon E5 2699 V5.
What’s even more interesting to see was the benchmark scores that the Xeon processor was able to achieve. Where the 32 core 64 threads Intel Xeon E5 2699 V5 was able to gain a breath taking multi score of around 49, 647. That as being impressive is not even the good part. As the upcoming Xeon processor from Intel shines when it comes to single core performance. Coming in at a score of 3,526. The highest that a CPU have ever achieved on Geekbench.
Intel Xeon E5 2699 V5 is rumored to be running on an updated socket type code named LGA 3647. Where the CPU can achieve a core speed of 2.1GHz on all 32 cores. But we saw the processor achieving a boost of 2.3GHz on all cores during the Geekbench benchmark. Aside from that Intel Xeon E5 2669 V5 will also have support for 6 channel DDR4 memory.
AMD recently launched their 32 core Naples server CPU as well. Where AMD bench-marked their Naples CPU against Intel Xeon E5 299 V4 processor. Which consists of 22 cores and 44 threads. And if you look at the benchmarks Naples was beatings the 22 core Intel CPU, by a huge margin. Maybe this is Intel’s response to AMD by also launching a 32 core CPU of their own.
