Intel Xeon D-2100 series of processors – Intel reveals the specifications list

The Core series processors were too mainstream so Intel has announced a new family of processors by the name of Xeon-D which comes with the integrated Intel Mesh technology. The processors are said to achieve a turbo clock speed of 2.8 GHz for all cores. However, the collective CPU boost up is said to deliver up to 3.0 GHz in single-threaded applications. For reference, the processors roll out with a base clock speed ranging between 1.6 and 2.2 GHz.Image result for Xeon-D

The Flagship Processor

Speaking of the series’ best processor, Intel names it as ‘D-2191’ which will roll out with 18-cores and an 86W TDP rating. This is probably the most expensive processing unit that Intel has ever produced costing a bit over $2000. Intel has divided the D2100 series into three groups:

  1. Edge Servers
  2. Network Edge
  3. Intel Quick Assist supported SKUs.
