If your system mounts the latest Kaby Lake processor, AMD Bristol Ridge or AMD Ryzen, and you want to continue to use the older version of Windows. Microsoft doesn’t provide any further support for these devices.
Microsoft has decided to stop providing any further updates for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices with,
- Intel seventh (7th)-generation processors
- AMD ‘Bristol Ridge’
- Qualcomm ‘8996’
According to the Microsoft, the earlier versions of Windows are not designed and compatible to use with the latest processors. Users trying to search and install updates received the specific message:
” Unsupported Hardware […] Your PC uses a processor that is not supported on this version of Windows and you will not receive updates. “.
”Windows could not search for new updates
An error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer.
